Vancouver and Canada as reported in the News

The Tragically Hip: New Orleans Is Sinking - click to play as you read on...

It is reported a number of protesters managed to board Stephen Harper's flight; no confrontation occured as standard protocol applied, Government was seated in first class while regular taxpayers could only afford second class in the rear.

The US condemned Canadian lack of enforcement or staffing along more remote sections of the Canada - USA border suggesting access for illegal immigrants into either country.
Canada followed later issuing a brief reply: "That situation is under control and being closely monitored"

Mayhem ensues when hockey coach accidentally plays America's Wildest Police Chases instead of last game's highlight reel.

Now a word from our sponsors, Ontario Tourism...

Canadian man with no criminal history banned from USA for trying marijuana decades ago as a teen.
James Sward readily admits it: he has tried marijuana. More than once. He just never imagined it would get him banned from the United States. On a recent trip to the U.S., border officials asked the British Columbia elevator mechanic about his drug history. He was honest. Maybe too honest, he said. He admitted to getting busted carrying pot as a teen – though he was never charged or convicted. But when he admitted to smoking the drug, he was flatly denied entry and banned.

I got a Facebook page !!!
It's just hopping busy with hits, all my Canadian friends are on it!  Both of them!

The British Columbia Forests Branch has issued it's seasonal summer weather advisory:
Tourists and travelers into the backwoods are to take note.

From the "Words Defy Explanation" department...

Canadians hit the streets in moral indignation and fierce outrage in response to the latest bill to increase taxes with protests being held nationwide by angry and irate citizens.

Guelph Ontario residents all shaken and in uproar over the increase in violent crime in their area; they had a murder this year.   That makes the total amount of murders: 1.
Guelph, the bad seed.

The Canadian Economy steamrolling right along doing tickety-boo just fine thank you; one of the few economies in the world that seems to have entirely sidestepped this current world recession as if it wasn't even there.
The Federal Government deserves credit given where credit due; they saw it coming and planned accordingly; had to tighten 'our' belts....

... and some expenditures had to be cut to save costs.   The Coast Guard Station on Vancouver's waterfront at Jericho Point for example; the citizens just having to do with less services...

... less funding for social sports leagues or uniforms.

Tightening our belts easier for some than others of course -  it's hardly a walk at the beach for the politicians.

Richard Branson has offered to take B.C. Premier Christy Clark on a kitesurfing ride. The one condition? She has to be naked.

There's definite advantages to living in a booming economy but it's not glitter and glam for everybody.
I saw a hooker advertising a going out of business sale.
As for me I'm hoping to level up...

I finally got my firearms permit so thankfully those big store high prices won't be an issue anymore.

Sad news to report I'm afraid, very dire.
A Manitoba resident was driving down the freeway and hit a pedestrian .. unfortunately the driver was killed in the encounter with the pedestrian as is all too familiar in such cases.

Bear-protected pot found after theft from police

Hockey intermission cheerleaders.
Just an accident waiting to happen for many reasons.

  1. This comment is totally irrelevant to your post but I had to contact you somehow. My Yahoo is being funny.

I have a Canadian History exam this week and a few unanswered questions as well and you seem like the perfect guy to go to.

As I was writing this, you answered one of my questions, then another. You're good. ;D But I have more! You answered "Canada's accomplishments in both wars?" and "thCanada's accomplishments in both wars?" but I have one other on my profile if you have the time.

    I really appreciate the help.

    Thanks!

    Julia. :)
